The 9th Governing Council of the Polytechnic has confirmed Dr. Nathaniel Maduabuchi Ohaegbulem as the Deputy Rector (Administration) of the Polytechnic with effect from Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Dr. Ohaegbulem’s confirmation as Deputy Rector (Administration) follows his emergence as winner of the election conducted by the Academic Board for the Rector’s nominees for the position in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Act, 2019.
Before his emergence as Deputy Rector (Administration), Dr.Ohaegbulem has served the Polytechnic in many capacities, including as Head of Department, Office Technology and Management (OTM) and Director, Entrepreneurship Center.
As Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Ohaegbulem, who will be holding the office for a single tenure of four (4) years, will be assisting the Rector in the performance of his administrative functions.
His other duties include;l acting in place of the Rector when the post is vacant or if the Rector, is for any reason absent or is unable to perform his functions as Rector.
In addition, Dr. Ohaegbulem will be performing such other functions as the Rector or Council may from time to time assign to him.
Born in 1965, Dr. Ohaegbulem is a native of Umuezeduru Amauzari, in Isiala Mbano Local Government of Imo State. He started his primary Education at Central School Amauzari (1969-1974). He got his Secondary Education from St. Dominic’s Secondary School, Ugiri (1975-1980) and Comprehensive Secondary School Amauzari (1980-1982). From 1983-1984, he enrolled with Exam Success Correspondence College Yaba Lagos where he obtained his General Certificate Examination (GCE) A Level. While he boasts of a B.sc in Business Education (1987-1991) and M.Ed Business Education (1999-2006) both from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu State, his insatiable quest for higher education led him to pluck a Doctoral Degree from the prestigious shelf of honours of the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, in 2015.
Dr. Ohaegbulem, as an erudite scholar, has distinguished himself in the academic landscape of Nigeria. He has received honours and awards, published scholarly journal articles, book chapters and books. He has also done extensive research in his area of specialization.
He is happily married and God blessed him with children.
