SCREENING OF CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION INTO ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES OF AKANU IBIAM FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, UNWANA FOR 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION

GUIDELINE FOR SCREENING

You are required to study the guideline carefully before applying for screening.

  • National Diploma (ND) candidates should maintain the name in their O’level Certificate(s) which should be the same name in their NIN.  Any discrepancy in the name in the certificate(s)/NIN will lead to disqualification.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates should maintain the name in the O’level and National Diploma (ND) Statement of Results during application for screening.
  • No candidate should upload any result other than those uploaded to JAMB.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) candidates should upload original National Diploma (ND) Statement of Result.  For those who obtained their National Diploma from Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana but their results are not yet issued to them, upload your Registration Number for further action.
  • Upload your O’level results to JAMB portal only in JAMB CBE centres not Cyber Café if you have not done so.
  • All candidates should include their valid phone numbers during the application for screening for effective communication.
  • All candidates should ensure that they enter valid 0’level scratch card/token details during the application for screening.
  • All candidates should ensure that they COMPLETE the online application forms after payment.
  • If your First Choice institution is not Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, please change for prompt action.

Candidates who scored 100 marks and above in the 2024 JAMB UTME are invited to apply for online screening for admission into Full-Time National Diploma programmes.  Visually-challenged candidates who have a minimum score of 100 marks in JAMB 2024 may also apply.

Candidates for Part-Time National Diploma programmes should apply to JAMB with a fee of three thousand, five hundred Naira (N3,500.00) only for formalization of their admission.  Thereafter, the candidate should forward to our Polytechnic, the Registration Number issued by State JAMB office for further processing of their admission.  Part-Time National Diploma candidates are not required to write the JAMB UTM Examination.

Candidates with relevant qualifications for admission into Post-Graduate Diploma;  Higher National Diploma; (Full-Time and Part-Time), Post National Diploma are also invited to apply for online screening for admission into available courses in Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State in the 2024/2025 academic session.

REGULAR NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) SCIENCE-BASED COURSES:

Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Ceramics & Glass Technology, Computer Science, Maths/Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology, Land Surveying and Geo-informatics, Estate Management, Agricultural Technology, Horticulture & Landscape Technology, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Metallurgical Engineering Technology,  Urban and Regional Planning, Computer Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Food Technology, Hospitality Management and Tourism, Arts and Design.

Qualification: 

O’Level certificate and requirement(s) as specified by Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

POST NATIONAL DIPLOMA:

Qualification:  Candidates must be holders of National Diploma Certificates that desire to change to another programme.    They are required to undergo a one (1) year bridge programme before admission into Higher National Diploma (HND).

POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD):

  • PGD Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology
  • PGD Computer  Science

Qualification: 

Candidates must be holders of Bachelors degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in the relevant field of study.  The candidate must have completed one year mandatory National Youth Service Corps Scheme.

FULL-TIME HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) BUSINESS-BASED COURSES

Business Administration and Management, Office Technology and Management, Accountancy, Public Administration, Marketing, Library and Information Science.

FULL-TIME HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) SCIENCE-BASED COURSES:

Architectural Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Ceramics and Glass Technology, Maths/Statistics, Hospitality Management and Tourism, Agricultural Extension and Management, Food Technology, Science Laboratory Technology, Computer Science, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Estate Management and Valuation, Animal Health Production Technology.

Qualification: 

Candidates must be holders of National Diploma in the relevant field of study.  Also candidates with CGPA of 2.50 and above must have completed one year Industrial Training.  Candidates with CGPA of less than 2.50 must have completed two years Industrial Training.

PART-TIME PROGRAMMES:

PART-TIME NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) BUSINESS-BASED COURSES:

Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Public Administration, Office Technology and Management, Library & Information Science.

PART-TIME NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) SCIENCE-BASED COURSES:

National Diploma:

  • Original copy of O’Level Result(s) (uploaded to JAMB).
  • Original copy of 2024 JAMB UTME Result:

Post-National Diploma:

  • O’level Certificate (s)
  • Original copy of ND Statement of Result obtained from NBTE Accredited institution.
  • Original copy of letter of completion of Industrial Training appropriate to the candidate’s CGPA.

Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD):

  • O’Level certificate(s).

(b)Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate or

(c)Bachelor’s Degree certificate.

  • NYSC Discharge Certificate/NYSC Exclusion or Exemption Certificate.

Higher National Diploma (HND):

  • Original copy of O’Level result(s) or certificate(s).
  • Original copy of National Diploma Statement of Result obtained

from NBTE- Accredited Institution.

  • Original copy of one year Letter of Completion of Industrial Training

APPLICATION FEE:

  • The processing fee for Post-Graduate Diploma is Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only.
  • The processing fee for Full-Time Higher National Diploma, Part-Time Higher National Diploma and Part-Time National Diploma courses is Five Thousand Naira (N5,000.00) only.
  • Screening fee for Full-Time National Diploma (ND) is Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00) only.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

Applicants should visit the Polytechnic’s website: www.polyunwana.edu.ng or akanuibiampoly.edu.ng and complete the on-line Admission Screening Application Form.
