The Academic Broad of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana has elected Dr. Fidelis Ije Nsude as the Deputy Rector (Academic) of the Polytechnic with effect from Wednesday September 20, 2023.

Dr. Nsude emerged Deputy Rector (Academic) following his success as the winner of election conducted by the Academic Board on Wednesday September 20, 2023 in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Polytechnic (Amended) act 2019. His election has since been ratified by the Honourable Minister of Education in lieu of the Governing Council.

As Deputy Rector (Academic), Dr. Nsude will be holding the office for a single term of four (4) years, assisting the Rector in Academic matters, acting in place of the Rector when the post of the Rector is vacant or if the Rector is for any reason absent, and to perform such other functions as the Rector may from time to time assign to him.

Dr. Nsude is a native of Uwani Amabokwu Aku, Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State. He had his primary and secondary school education at Central Primary School Aku, Igbo Etiti LGA, and Uzo-Uwani Secondary School Adani, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area respectively, both in Enugu State. He proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he bagged B. Sc honours in Statistics in 1995, and served his father land in 1996/97. For the love of education, he returned to school for his Masters in the 1998 at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and graduated in January 2000.

He joined Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana in August, 2000 as a Lecturer 111 officer and has risen to the rank of Chief Lecturer. In 2011, he got an Education Trust Fund (ETF) (today called Tetfund) scholarship award for a Ph.D program in statistics and obtained the degree in January 2016.

As an astute scholar and a prolific writer, Dr. Nsude has attained some milestone in the academic clime in Nigeria. He has written books, presented conference papers and published quality papers both in National and International reputable journals. He has distinguished himself academically in his lovely chosen profession. He is a member of Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA) and member, Research and Development Network (R&D Network).

Prior to his emergence as the Deputy Rector (Academic), Dr. Nsude has shown capacity for leadership; served in many administrative positions, served and chaired so many Management constituted committees. He has verifiable track records of robust human relations.

He is happily married and blessed with lovely children.
