AKANU IBIAM FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC, UNWANA GETS A NEW RECTOR
A new Rector has been appointed for Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana. He is Venerable Ogbonnia Ibe-Enwo. He succeeds Professor Francis O. Otunta, who has served out his tenure as the Rector of the Polytechnic.
Ven. Ibe-Enwo, 51, was recommended by the Governing Council of the Polytechnic to the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan through the Hon. Minister of Education after due process in the selection and appointment of Rector. The recommendation was subsequently approved by His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Until his appointment, Ven. Ibe-Enwo was the Head of Department of Maths/Statistics of the Polytechnic. He had before then held many other exalted positions such as Dean, School of Science and General Studies, Chairman, Staff Welfare Committee and member, 6th governing council, amongst others.
Ven. Ibe-Enwo is an indigene of Mgbom in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He is happily married to Lady Grace Ibe-Enwo with children. He is a Venerable Archdeacon of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Afikpo.
The new Rector has already assumed duty. The Polytechnic community heartily welcomes the new Rector and wishes him a successful and eventful tenure.
